Freddie Nelson

Freddie Nelson gratefully serves as Executive Vice President. He is from Birmingham, Alabama and is a senior at the Capstone. Freddie majors in Biology and minors in Italian with career aspirations in global health policy. Previously as Vice President for External Affairs in the 114th Administration, Freddie is bringing his past experiences and initiatives into the role of Executive Vice President, while eagerly executing and furthering his service commitment to the student body. During his campaign, Freddie ran on the platform, Be First With Freddie. This mission highlighted five core pillars: Accessibility & Opportunity, Productivity & Transparency, Leadership & Service, Fellowship & Belonging, and Tradition & Spirit. Under these values total 20 new initiatives dedicated to improving SGA from the inside out to ultimately enhance the collegiate experience for every student at the Capstone. Freddie and his team are already achieving several of his platform points and look forward for a year of complete success. Outside of SGA, Freddie is the Co-Founder and President of Tide and Tables, an organization connecting UA with the Tuscaloosa community through visiting and reviewing local restaurants. He recently was accepted into the inaugural class of the President’s Cabinet Scholars and serves as an executive for Beta Theta Pi. Freddie enjoys being by the water, spending time with his family and friends, and maintaining an active and productive lifestyle. Freddie couldn’t be more thankful to serve alongside President Samantha Simmons and the entire 115th Administration. He looks forward to ensuring his third and final year leading in the SGA is one of all-around achievement.

Alex Soliz

Alex Soliz is a junior from Dallas, Texas. He is currently pursuing a degree in biology with a minor in business at The University of Alabama. Over Alex’s time on campus, he has been involved in and led many organizations while maintaining academic excellence. In his role now, he serves as the Vice President for Financial Affairs and helps oversee the allocation of student organization funding across campus. Furthermore, he works closely with student leaders, manages initiatives related to the Financial Affairs Committee, and assists with the SGA budget. His role prior to this was serving the student body as a Senator for the College of Arts & Sciences and as Head of the Senate Committee on Finance. Finally, Alex has been recognized for his achievements as a National Hispanic Merit Scholar and is a member of the Honors College, Tide and Tables, UA Pre-Dental Society, and Beta Theta Pi. He looks forward to what he can accomplish in the coming year.

Anna Beth Frazier

Anna Beth Frazier is a junior from Birmingham, Alabama, double majoring in Criminal Justice and Accounting with a minor in Cyber Criminology on the Pre-Law Track. With a deep appreciation for servant leadership and student support, Anna Beth has worked to make a positive impact on campus through active participation in Student Government. She began her involvement in SGA as a First-Year Councilor and later served as the Student Affairs Committee Head for the SGA Senate during her sophomore year. Through these leadership experiences, she has worked to advocate for student resources and strengthen campus engagement initiatives. Now, as a part of the 115th Administration, she proudly serves as Vice-President for Student Affairs. She is committed to fostering a productive and memorable student experience and ensuring that student voices are heard. She looks forward to connecting with students and welcomes you to stop by and say hello!

Madelyn Herwig

Madelyn is a junior from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, majoring in Business Management with a minor in English on the Pre-Law track. She began her time in SGA as a First Year Councilor and then as a Senator representing the Culverhouse College of Business during her sophomore year. With her passion for higher education and her background of being a dual citizen of Germany and the United States, Madelyn values representing students’ unique and wide-ranging needs as the current SGA Vice President for Academic Affairs. Outside of SGA, Madelyn is an active member of the Shelby Institute, the Blount Scholars Program, serves Alpha Chi Omega as Vice President for Intellectual Development, and many other organizations and honor societies. She is always available to hear your thoughts and enjoys meeting new people, so stop by the SGA office to say hi!

Lily Leitner

Born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Lily Leitner is a junior majoring in Economics and Finance with a minor in Social Innovation and Leadership. Having grown up around The University of Alabama, she considers it a privilege to give back to a place that has helped shape, challenge, and inspire her throughout her life. Lily’s leadership philosophy is rooted in stewardship, service, and building meaningful relationships. Prior to serving as Vice President for External Affairs, she served as Deputy Chief of Staff for the 114th SGA Administration, where she worked alongside fellow student leaders to advance administration initiatives and improve communication and transparency within SGA through projects such as the Week at a Glance initiative. As Vice President for External Affairs, Lily is focused on strengthening connections between students, the University, and the Tuscaloosa community. Through partnerships, civic engagement, and community collaboration, she hopes to ensure students are not only connected to campus, but also to the city they call home. Outside of SGA, Lily is involved in numerous campus leadership organizations and enjoys spending time with family and friends, serving her community, and cheering on the Crimson Tide. She is honored to represent the student body and is committed to serving students with purpose, accessibility, and integrity.

Marykate Foster

Marykate Foster is a junior from Fairhope, Alabama, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Human Resource Management. She began her involvement in the Student Government Association as a First Year Councilor, where she developed a passion for student advocacy and service. As a sophomore, Marykate was elected to serve as a Senator for the College of Arts and Sciences and later served as Chair of the Belonging and Wellness Committee, working to promote student support, connection, and well-being across campus. Through her experiences in SGA, she has collaborated with students, campus leaders, and university administrators to create meaningful initiatives that enhance the student experience. Outside of SGA, Marykate is an active member of Kappa Delta and the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. She looks forward to building on the work of those who came before her and is excited to collaborate with students and campus partners to further strengthen belonging, support, and wellness at the Capstone.

Reese Langdon

Reese Langdon is a senior from Texarkana, Texas. She is double majoring in Political Science and History while pursuing a Master of Public Administration on the pre-law track. Reese began her SGA journey as a freshman through the First Year Council. During her sophomore year, she served as the Director of Programming for the Belonging and Wellness Cabinet, and in her junior year, she served as the Cabinet’s Chief of Staff. Reese is passionate about connecting students with resources that help them succeed at The Capstone, a mission she continues to pursue in her current role as Vice President for Communications. During her time in the 115th Administration, Reese’s goal is to find creative ways to improve student life and leave a lasting impact on campus.

Camden Preskitt

Camden is a senior from Vestavia Hills, Alabama, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Capstone. With an evident and longstanding passion for leadership, service, and advocacy, she has been devoted to the Student Government doing exactly that for the past three years. Camden began her time in SGA as a freshman, serving as Deputy Chief of Staff to Vice President for Student Affairs Lucy Bonhaus. The following year, she was selected to serve on Lucy’s Executive Cabinet during her presidency, serving as her Chief Advisor and playing an integral role in the 114^th Administration. Now, as newly appointed Chief of Staff, she looks forward to leading, serving, and advocating for the student body in a passionate and productive way. Outside of SGA, Camden serves as an active member of the Capstone College of Nursing’s Dean’s Student Advisory Council and the UA Committee on Student Health, and has been inducted into six honors societies within the past year. She is so grateful for one final year getting to serve the student body alongside the 115^th Administration!

Rylen Dempsey

Rylen Dempsey is a senior from Birmingham, Alabama, studying Civic Leadership while pursuing a Master of Public Administration. Prior to serving as Chief of Staff, he served as Chief Administrative Officer and Deputy Chief of Staff. Rylen is a member of The Blackburn Institute and the Shelby Scholars Program and serves as Chairman of the Advisory Council on Wellness.
