These are the candidates for the College of Human and Environmental Sciences Senate Seats in the Spring 2026 SGA General Election.
Mackensie Anderson
Hello UA! My name is Mackensie Anderson, I am a freshman from Dothan, AL and I am majoring in Interior Design. Through being a Greek Ambassador for UA, my love and passion for helping other people achieve success has only grown deeper. I would love to be one of your next Senators of the College of Human Environmental Sciences to have the opportunity to create change and make a difference for my classmates now and to come. Being a Senator would be a great chance to help benefit the experience of each student in my college and advocate for the changes they wish to see.
As your next Senator, I first seek to unite our student body by creating interest-based groups within each major and a request box which provides a practical way to voice other’s ideas. Second, I strive to create opportunities to collaborate with peers through encouraging mentorships, interest-based workshops, and portfolio studios. Last, I wish to engage our student body with the workforce through creating a program for students to meet a UA alum in their prospective career field, promoting internships, and a CHES “Get on Board Day” with tabling’s from local business professionals and clubs.
I hope you join me on February 24 in support of the College of Human Environmental Sciences and to make these ideas become reality! Be Anchored with Anderson and Roll Tide!
Bree McLean
My name is Bree McLean, and I am from Marietta, Georgia. I am an actively involved member of the campus community with a strong commitment to leadership and service. During my previous term, I served in the Student Senate, where I gained valuable experience in student advocacy, collaboration, and governance. Additionally, I serve as a Greek Ambassador, representing the Greek community through outreach, engagement, and leadership initiatives.
I am running for re-election because of my continued dedication to student advocacy and my desire to further serve the campus community. My platform is centered on Innovation, Advocacy, and Action. Innovation drives my goal to bring forward new ideas that improve communication, accessibility, and student engagement across campus. Advocacy reflects my commitment to ensuring all student voices are heard, represented, and respected in decision-making processes. Through Action, I aim to turn ideas into measurable progress by actively collaborating with students, organizations, and administration to address campus needs.
Re-election would allow me to build upon the progress made during my previous term while applying my experience, leadership, and passion for service to create meaningful and lasting improvements for our campus community.
Stephanie Morris
My name is Stephanie Morris, and I am a Sport Management student in the College of Human Environmental Sciences from Winchester, Virginia! I am actively involved on campus through Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, Girls Club, and the Alabama Sport Management Association. I also serve as the Digital and Social Media Manager for Alabama Gymnastics and have worked in athletics through Alabama Hockey and Grow the Game. Through these experiences, I have seen how leadership, collaboration, and access to opportunity can shape students’ experiences.
I am running for HES Senate because I want to advocate for our students who are driven, ambitious, and eager to turn their passions into careers. HES students bring many interests to campus, yet may lack direct access to industry connections and professional resources. I want to help bridge that gap and ensure our voices are represented within SGA.
My platform focuses on three key initiatives. First, Industry Connections: expanding networking, internship, and career placement opportunities by strengthening relationships with alumni and employers. Second, Professional Development: supporting resume workshops, interview preparation, and leadership programming tailored specifically to HES students. Third, Cross-College Collaboration: creating shared opportunities between HES and colleges such as Business, Law, and Sciences for students with overlapping career goals.
I am committed to serving, supporting, and elevating the HES community!
