TUSCALOOSA, AL — The University of Alabama Student Government Association and The
Alabama Interfraternity Council hosted the Third Annual Battle of the Bands at Druid City
Music Hall on Thursday, November 14, 2024. Four student bands competed for the title, with
Elbow Joint championed as the crowd-voted top band.
The event showcased the talent of student musicians including Elbow Joint, Interim, The Hannah
Beale Band, and Stickhouse. With 647 tickets sold through presales and at the door, the event
raised a total of $6,090. All proceeds will benefit the Joe Espy needs-based scholarship program,
supporting students in financial need.
“This year’s Battle of the Bands was a huge success not only in celebrating our students’ musical
talents but also in giving back to our university community,” said Walker Parsons, Vice
President for External Affairs. “We are grateful for the strong turnout and the generous
contributions of those who attended to make this a memorable night for all.”
The event brought together students, faculty, and community members, highlighting the spirit of
collaboration that defines the University of Alabama. The University of Alabama Student
Government Association looks forward to carrying the competition in partnership with the
Interfraternity Council in the coming years.
