Chief Advisor to the President

Cate Brownlee is a junior from Great Falls, Virginia studying business marketing and sales. Cate has previously served as Deputy Chief of Staff under the Vice President of External Affairs and well as the Deputy Chief of Staff for the 112th administration. Outside of SGA, Cate currently serves as the President of Zeta Tau Alpha and is an active member of the Business Honors Program, Delta Sigma Pi and other business related group on campus. Cate is honored to serve Samad Gillani and the University of Alabama student body once again within the Student Government Association and cannot wait to get to work!

Chase Cowart

Chief Administrative Officer

Chase Cowart is a Junior from Birmingham, Alabama, majoring in Public Relations with a concentration in Digital Communication. Within SGA, he previously served as the Director of Engagement for the Vice President of External Affairs. Outside of this involvement, he serves as the Webmaster of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, the Director of Community Outreach for Public Relations Society of America, a Strategist at Capstone Agency, an Ambassador for the College of Communications and Information Sciences, and is member of the honor society, Phi Eta Sigma.

Halle Harman

Director of Communications

Halle Harman is a Junior from Tulsa, Oklahoma, majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Sales. As she enters her third year in SGA, Halle brings experience from serving on the First Year Council and the Executive Vice President’s cabinet as Director of Communications. Outside of SGA, Halle is actively engaged as Secretary of Phi Mu Alpha Zeta, participating in PRCA’s Community Cultivation Project, and a member of Phi Eta Sigma. Halle is honored to serve the 113th Administration and looks forward to the year ahead!

Karim Panjawani

Treasurer

Karim Panjawani is from Birmingham, Alabama, and he is pursuing a dual degree in Property Development (Interdisciplinary) and Psychology. Karim has been involved in various levels of SGA ranging from serving as a First Year Councilor to serving as Chief Administrative Officer on the Vice President of External Affairs’s Cabinet. He is thoroughly involved in campus through research within the Psychology department and mentorship programs. Karim also maintains steady involvement in community service through organizations like La Escuelita De Inglés, a program teaching survival English to adult Spanish speakers within the greater Tuscaloosa area. He hopes to combine his wide array of skills to contribute positively in bringing more structure to the role of Treasurer within the Executive Cabinet.

Alex Cheng

Director of Engagement

Alex is an MBA student from Huntsville, Alabama entering his fourth year at the Capstone. He graduated from the University of Alabama Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in computer science on the pre-medical track. Alex previously served as the Director of Multicultural Affairs in the SGA DEI Cabinet. Outside of the SGA, he is the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair of the Theta Xi fraternity; the former Secretary and Internal Vice President for the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE); a member of the Asian American Student Association (AASA); and an inducted member of the AED Pre-Medical Honors Society. Additionally, he is a teaching assistant for the UA in Belize: Tropical Conservation Study Abroad and an undergraduate researcher for the Earley Lab. Alex is excited to serve students with the Gillani Administration and increase student engagement for the SGA.

Hannah Adams

Director of Programming and Advancement

Hannah Adams is a senior from Birmingham, Alabama, double majoring in Political Science and Public Relations on the CREATE Path to MBA. Entering her fourth year in the Student Government Association, she previously served as a Lobby Board Member, Director of Programming to the Vice President for Student Affairs, and Chief Advisor to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Outside of SGA, Hannah is a Recruitment Team Member for the Blackburn Institute, President of the Carl A. Elliott Society, Director of Leadership for Alpha Gamma Delta, and Captain of the UA American Cancer Society Relay for Life team. She is Co-President of the 501(c)(3) non-profit H.U.G.S. 4 Childhood Cancer and a state Advocacy Coordinator for the American Childhood Cancer Organization. Hannah is also a member of Blue Key, Mortar Board, ODK, The Order of Omega, among many other honor societies. Hannah is honored to serve within the Gillani Administration and excited to continue making meaningful contributions to the university community!

Director of Environmental Affairs

Maggie Duncan is a senior from Tuscaloosa, Alabama majoring in Civil Engineering on the STEM Path to MBA. Entering her third year in the Student Government Association, she has previously served as the Director of Programming under the Director of Environmental Affairs and a Deputy Chief of Staff under the Vice President for Student Affairs. Beyond involvement in SGA, Maggie is the Vice President of Education for Greek Ambassadors, Treasurer for American Society of Civil Engineers, STEM Path to MBA Ambassador, and former Environmental Chair for her sorority, Chi Omega. Maggie is honored to serve as the 2024-2025 Director of Environmental Affairs for the Gillani administration. She is eager to promote sustainability and conservation on campus and work with many individuals to make UA a greener place!

Daniel Tsark is a senior from Chandler, Arizona majoring in Cyber Security. He previously served as the Deputy Director of IT and Webmaster and is excited to continue improving the SGA website. Outside of SGA, Daniel serves as the Corresponding Secretary for Theta Tau, the Parliamentarian for the United Greek Council, and the Large Events Coordinator for the Association for Computing Machinery. He is excited to continue growing the accessibility and availability of SGA to the greater student body.

Jack Rudder

Attorney General

Jack Rudder is a senior from Saint Louis, Missouri studying mechanical engineering. Last year, Jack served our SGA as the Speaker of the Senate and, this year, serves as Attorney General. Apart from SGA, Jack serves as the Vice President of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Upon graduation, he looks to add value to an engineering sales team. Jack enjoys grilling, snowboarding, golf, and finding the best deals at restaurants in Tuscaloosa. He is ecstatic to serve this administration by giving legal counsel to those who ask!

Press Secretary

Morgan Patrick is a senior from Birmingham, Alabama majoring in Political Science and Communication Studies on the Pre-Law track. Morgan previously served in SGA as a senator for the College of Communication and Information Sciences and the Chief of Staff to the Vice President of External Affairs. Outside of her SGA involvement, she is the director of Account Management for the Capstone Agency, a member of Cardinal Key, the Pre-Law student association and has held leadership in her sorority, Chi Omega. Director of Strategic Initiatives

Hannah Kate Newman is a sophomore from Chattanooga, TN studying Finance, Economics, and Spanish with a minor in Real Estate. Previously in SGA, Hannah Kate was a First Year Councilor, and this year she served as Director of Research and Policy within the Strategic Initiatives cabinet. Outside of SGA, Hannah Kate is actively involved as an analyst in the Culverhouse Investment Management Group, as well as, serving as a leader in Young Life and the Alabama Panhellenic Association as a Sigma Rho Chi. Hannah Kate is passionate about finding and allocating funding to serve all students at the University of Alabama. Charles Makobongo

Deputy Chief of Staff

Charles Makobongo is a sophomore from Lewis Center, OH pursuing a double major in Finance & Accounting. Previously within SGA, he recently served as the Chairperson for the financial affairs committee in FYC and is ecstatic to continue serving the student body with SGA at a broader scale. Apart from his SGA responsibilities, Charles co-leads a community service initiative within UA Business LEAD called “Societal Impact”. He also is a LEAD ambassador within UA Business LEAD. Additionally, Charles is a member of UA Bridge and volunteers his time with Reading Allies.
