TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Student Government Association (SGA) is
hosting a Student Success week, January 14-15. These initiatives aim to highlight the importance
of academic engagement and offer students opportunities to connect with faculty and honors
organizations across campus. Two events will take place during Student Success Week:
- Faculty Panel on Artificial Intelligence
- Date: Tuesday, January 14th
- Time: 5 p.m.
- Location: Tuomey Hall
SGA is hosting the university’s first-ever faculty panel on Artificial Intelligence. This event
provides a platform for students to engage with five esteemed faculty members and explore the
innovative ways AI is shaping education, research, and society. Attendees are encouraged to
bring their questions and join the conversation about the transformative potential of AI.
- Coordinating Council for Honors Societies Coffee Hour
- Date: Wednesday, January 15
- Time: 10 a.m.
- Location: Student Center Anderson Room (3rd floor)
Students are invited to a coffee hour to meet representatives from the Coordinating Council for
Honors Societies (CCHS). This is a unique opportunity to learn about the missions and
application criteria of the various honors societies at UA.
“Student Success Week is designed to inspire students to embrace the many resources and
opportunities available to them at UA,” said Cassidy Matwiyoff, Vice President for Academic
Affairs. “These events showcase the exceptional talent of our faculty and the commitment of our
honors societies to fostering academic excellence.”
