TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Student Government Association is proud to announce the successful launch of the Airport Transit Program, fulfilling a key campaign promise made by SGA President Lucy Bonhaus.
The program, designed to ease travel logistics for out-of-state and international students, will provide affordable, reliable shuttle transportation to and from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) during peak travel times, including Fall and Thanksgiving Breaks 2025. Transportation to additional cities, such as Nashville and Huntsville, will also be available.
After months of coordination with UA’s Transportation Services and external transit partners, the SGA is excited to promote this new travel solution in partnership with College Break Bus and UA Transportation Services. The program reflects SGA’s ongoing commitment to student accessibility, convenience, and well-being.
“From the beginning, my goal has been to advocate for what students need most, and reliable airport transportation has consistently been at the top of that list. I’m grateful to UA Transportation for engaging in honest, productive conversations and for their hard work in bringing this program to life,” said SGA President Lucy Bonhaus. “This effort shows what’s possible when students and the university work together. We’re proud to serve as the bridge between student concerns and transformative action.”
