Voting Matters Week

TUSCALOOSA, AL – The University of Alabama Student Government Association (SGA) is hosting Voting Matters Week, Oct. 7 thorough Oct. 11. Voting Matters Week drives forth an initiative to encourage students to register to vote for the upcoming election through various events and programming.

  • Tuesday, Oct. 8: Lobby Board “Battle of the Ballots” voter registration tabling on Crimson Promenade from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 9: Lobby Board “Battle of the Ballots” voter registration tabling on Crimson Promenade from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Greek Point Opportunity)
  • Thursday, Oct. 10: Lobby Board Open House and Donuts in SGA Office from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Battle of the Ballots” is a competition against the University of South Carolina to see which school can register the most students during Voting Matters Week. The friendly rivalry aims to engage students and foster a culture of civic participation. Students are encouraged to stop by the tabling events, and learn more about how to register to vote

“We’re excited to partner with USC for this competition,” said SGA President Samad Gillani. “Voting is a vital part of our democracy, and we want to empower our students to make their voices heard.”
