SGA Partners with Local Food Bank

SGA Partners with Local Food Bank for Hunger Action Month to Fight Food Insecurity.

Tuscaloosa, AL — In an effort to fight food insecurity in the Tuscaloosa community, the Student Government Association (SGA) recently partnered with The West Alabama Food Bank to make an impact during Hunger Action Month. Over the past week, SGA Executive Council and Cabinet members packed nearly 500 boxes, handling over 15,000 pounds of food. This collaborative effort is set to provide much-needed relief to families grappling with food insecurity in the Tuscaloosa area.

“Our partnership with The West Alabama Food Bank during Hunger Action Month has been a rewarding experience for everyone involved,” said Samad Gillani, President of the Student Government Association. “Seeing our members come together with such dedication and compassion to make a real difference in people’s lives has been truly inspiring. We’re proud of the work we’ve accomplished and excited to continue supporting the West Alabama Food Bank and the Tuscaloosa community in meaningful ways.”

As Hunger Action Month continues, the SGA remains committed to finding new ways to contribute and encourage others to join in the fight against hunger. For more information on the West Alabama Food Bank and the ways that you can make an impact, please visit the West Alabama Food Bank website.
