SGA Confirms Senate Parliamentarian

The University of Alabama Student Government Association (SGA) Senate proudly announces the appointment of its 29th Student Senate Parliamentarian, Kyle Staus, following a successful confirmation vote. Kyle Staus, a junior majoring in Management with a minor in Spanish, was unanimously confirmed by the Student Senate.

Staus, who previously served as a first-year councilor within the SGA, brings a wealth of experience and understanding of parliamentary procedures to the role. His background in legislative processes and his approach to student advocacy were key factors in his selection. As Parliamentarian, Smith will be responsible for ensuring that all Senate meetings adhere to established rules and regulations, guided by Robert’s Rules of Order, thereby facilitating smooth and orderly legislative sessions. His role will be crucial in maintaining the integrity and overall effectiveness of the Senates operations.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kyle into this pivotal role,” said Speaker of the Senate Chloe Pickle. “His dedication and expertise will contribute to seamless and effective Senate meetings. We look forward to working with him as we continue to advance student interests and drive change on campus.”

Staus was confirmed by a unanimous Senate vote during Thursday night’s senate session.
