These are the candidates for the Law School Senate Seats in the Spring 2025 SGA General Election.
Tristin Lollar
I’m Tristin Lollar, and I’m running for reelection to the SGA senate. I’m a 1L who has been at UA since freshman year of 2020, and since then I’ve been blessed to call Tuscaloosa my home. From my initial experience in undergrad to my first semester in law school, I’ve been interested in learning how to best elevate the student experience. I’ve served as a student council member at Bama Catholic, been a member of the Honors College, and was a resident advisor for 3 of my 4 years in undergrad.
I am running with the hopes of improving the student experience for my fellow law students, in conjunction with other senators and colleges. Civil service has always been an interest of mine, from the far off days when I first ran for mock government at Boys State to now. In my first term as a senator I have learned some of the basics of the legislative process on campus, and with that knowledge I hope to craft legislation that can radically deliver a better constituent experience.

My platform is simple: to provide legislation that will improve the law school experience. One item I’ve noticed is that law school students rarely, if ever, visit main campus. I would like to encourage law students to come onto the main campus, visit the Quad, student center, etc., by increasing awareness of the bus routes at East Edge and Coleman which can transport them without having to walk a great distance.
Brady McCormick
My name is Brady McCormick, and I am running for Senate because I believe in the power of thoughtful, proactive leadership that listens to and acts in the best interest of the community. Born and raised in Clanton, Alabama, I have a deep understanding of the values that shape our state and the importance of ensuring that every voice is heard. After completing my undergraduate degree at UA, graduating summa cum laude in just three and a half years, I chose to take a semester off and reflected on how I could make a meaningful impact. Now, as a law student here at UA, I am ready to dedicate myself to making a positive impact for our students.

As a member of the Senate, I will bring a disciplined, results-oriented approach to ensure that our school remains a place where students thrive and where all voices can contribute to shaping our future.
My platform centers on addressing issues that matter most to students: advocating for increased accessibility to student mental health and well being resources, promoting sustainable practices on campus, and creating opportunities for career advancement opportunities while ensuring fairness and opportunity for all. I want to bridge gaps between university administration and the student body, amplify the voices of underrepresented groups, and push for policies that reflect the changing needs of today’s generation.
