TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Student Government Association (SGA) has facilitated a partnership between the University of Alabama Libraries and The Wall Street Journal to provide a school-sponsored WSJ subscription to all University of Alabama students, faculty and staff. Through the partnership, subscribers will have full digital access to WSJ’s
award-winning journalism via WSJ.com and the app, as well as a wide variety of curated content, from podcasts and newsletters to career insights and personal finance advice.
Students, faculty and staff at University of Alabama can activate their complimentary subscription by visiting WSJ.com/UA. Those who currently pay for an existing WSJ subscription may call 1-800-JOURNAL and mention they are switching to their school-sponsored subscription. Partial refunds will be made. Over the past several months, SGA Vice President for Academic Affairs Samantha Simmons has conducted meetings and fundraising efforts for this initiative.
“Our team’s work to provide students with free access to The Wall Street Journal has reminded me of the generosity of university administrators,” Simmons said. “UA’s leadership is compassionate, intentional, and consistently willing to listen to student leaders. From the hours spent researching to the hours spent advocating, I am deeply grateful for the dedication of the 114th Administration for getting this resource to students.”
Access to this resource is made possible through a collaborative initiative between SGA, University Libraries, and College partners: Culverhouse College of Business, Barefield College of Arts & Sciences, Career Center, Honors College, College Of Communication & Information Sciences, Office of Teaching Innovation and Digital Education (OTIDE) and College of Education.
