New student leadership initiative will provide feedback on artists, events, ticketing, and marketing efforts to strengthen the partnership between UA students and the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater.
TUSCALOOSA, AL – July 2026
The University of Alabama Student Government Association announces the launch of the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater Student Advisory Committee, a new initiative led by Lily Leitner, Vice President for External Affairs, designed to strengthen collaboration between UA students and the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater.
The Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater Student Advisory Committee will serve as a direct student feedback group, providing UA students with the opportunity to share their perspectives and help shape future entertainment experiences in the Tuscaloosa community. Through this partnership, committee members will strengthen communication between the University of Alabama student body and the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater.
Committee members will provide feedback on a variety of topics, including potential artist bookings, program ideas, ticket access initiatives, student engagement efforts, and marketing strategies. This feedback will help the Amphitheater better understand student interests and create experiences that align with what UA students want to see.
Members of the Student Advisory Committee will represent the student perspective while collaborating with SGA and Amphitheater representatives. Students selected to serve on the committee will be expected to provide thoughtful feedback throughout the academic year and assist in creating a stronger connection between the Amphitheater and the UA student community.
Through this partnership, University of Alabama students will also have expanded opportunities to access events at the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater. Depending on the artist and event, students may have access to exclusive pre-sale opportunities, discounted student ticket pricing, and designated student seating sections that allow students to enjoy performances alongside theirpeers. Because each event is subject to individual artist and promoter agreements, available student benefits will vary on a concert-by-concert basis.
SGA is excited about the opportunity to increase student access to premier entertainment experiences in Tuscaloosa while strengthening the connection between the University and the local community. Information regarding available student benefits for each event will be shared through the Student Government Association’s Instagram page, @uasga.
Committee members will be required to sign and comply with a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to participate. Throughout the year, members can expect periodic feedback requests, occasional committee meetings, and communication through platforms such as email, GroupMe, group text, or a combination of communication methods. Some feedback requests may require a quick turnaround to ensure student perspectives are incorporated into timely decisions.
Applications for the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater Student Advisory Committee are open now and will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the 2026–2027 academic year.
